We’ve been waiting to release this little gem of a promo vid for McKenzie Country.  Only 12 more days to go until it opens on the 14th!

McKenzie Country debut June

Award-winning Playwright Hannah McKie debuts McKenzie Country at Bats Theatre this June.  McKenzie Country took out the David Carson-Parker Embassy Award and Dominion Post Scholarship in 2008.  3x Chapman Tripp nominee Rachel Henry (Rachel More) has signed on to direct the piece making this one 2011 debut you don’t want to miss – mark it on your calendars now 14-25th June!

And what is the play about?

When Hayden McKenzie returns to New Zealand more than one family member is suspicious. Why pick a household on the verge of war? McKenzie Country is a smart, multi award-winning look at the tensions that characterise the modern family. Well observed and heartfelt, McKenzie’s kiwi flavour is sure to resonate with anyone who’s ever experienced ‘family’.
